What is Tibetan Sound Healing/ Sound Therapy?

“Tibetan Sound Healing involves application of sound waves and harmonic vibrations to the body using Tibetan Singing Bowls and Gong which alters your brain waves, activates destress response in your body and helps to restore the normal vibratory frequency of each cell within the body”

Sound healing is an ancient meditative and healing practice that uses different vibrations to clear the energetic blockages and thus facilitate healing on a physical and mental level. Many people consider it a new form of therapy but the use of sound for healing is thousands year old with deep roots in cultures across the world. The ancient Greeks used sound to cure mental disorders, induce sleep and aid in digestion.

Tibetan Singing bowls have been used in Tibetan culture since the 12th century. These handmade metal bowls are made from seven metals (gold, silver, iron copper, lead, mercury and tin), are aligned with the seven heavenly bodies in our solar system and the seven chakras of our body. They come in different sizes and each one produces a deep sound that relaxes the mind and heals the body. As each bowl produces vibration at different frequencies which help shifting our normal beta state (alert, concentrating, reaction) to an alpha state (creative and relaxed) and even to theta state (meditative state) and delta state (where restoration and internal healing occurs).

In fact, Western medicine also uses sound waves on a daily basis in the form of ultrasound technology, which can be used to break up kidney stones and gall stones.

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is now used in some NHS hospitals and private clinics to treat prostate cancer. The therapy closely targets tumours, causing much less damage to healthy tissue than conventional surgery or radiotherapy.
